The Big News

Am writing this on Wednesday, Halloween 2007. What a shocker. As of about 1pm on Friday, October 26th, 2007 Janis has cancer. This is the day the surgeon dropped the bomb. We weren't given very much info or many options and honestly were way too shocked to even know what (out of the millions of quesitons running thru our heads) or how to ask the questions. We then went to an oncologist in Chehalis. We filled out a bunch of paperwork, some more blood was drawn to run it thru a bunch of tests and then we met with the Dr. The meeting definitely went better as we were able to talk about treatment and the future a bit, but there is still very little tangible info that was handed off to us. The initial recommendation is that there will be a course of chemotherapy for Janis. This recommendation was just a preliminary (a most likely scenario to plan for) based on the initial info the Dr. had at the time. Our next meeting is 2pm November 2.
