Some good news for a change

Janis had her post-op followup appointment today. We were kind of expecting to just get a run down on the pathology report from the nodes but she received a bit more than that. We did get some good news as well. Granted, after this last month, if I came on here and said my foot was run over by the garbage truck, that would count toward the "good news" side of the ledger.

Good News:
  • 1 of the drains was taken out (yeah!!! less chance for chunkage).
  • the staples were removed and replaced with steri-strips
  • the ace wrap bandages were removed (talk about a relief)
  • she can shower now (didn't think things were getting very funky around here, but what do I know??).
  • Lymph nodes -2 sentinel nodes, during surgery showed cancer. 2 more sentinel nodes were found, checked and did _NOT_ have cancer in them. Also, at the time of surgery, 12 more nodes were removed and those have been checked and did _NOT_ show any cancer in them. Praise God!

No more Dr. appointments this week and 2 next week. 1 Wednesday with the surgeon to continue to check this out on the recover and 1 Friday with Dr. Osborne to consult about the chemo.

Thanks for the continued prayers! Its awesome to see God's work in action.
